LUSH CHRISTMAS

Lush-christmas

I'm always so excited to see Lush's Christmas offerings and after a trip to Lush on Friday I now have a lovely little haul that's making my whole flat smell amazing! Here's what I bought:

Snow Fairy: This bright pink, sweet candy shower gel is one of my favourite products from Lush. I'm so glad that Lush has added skin softening seaweed to Snow Fairy this year, I've always loved the smell but felt that it wasn't really moisturising enough for the winter months. With this addition, it's perfect to use over the festive period as keeps your skin feeling silky soft and leaves a lovely sweet lingering scent to your skin.

Cinders: This lovely little bath ballistic contains cinnamon, sweet orange oil and vegan popping candy. It's become a tradition for me to buy Lush Cinders every Christmas and whenever I use it the scent fills the whole home and makes me feel so, so festive!

Snow Angel: This is the prettiest bath melt that's full of moisturising ingredients. Snow Angel is covered in gold and silver glitter (which is something I normally avoid as the glitter can get everywhere and sticks to your skin!) but this was too cute to pass up, I'm going to save this for a day when I know I'm just staying in, possibly Boxing day!

I also got two soaps that both smell absolutely amazing. Yog Nog is my favourite of the two and smells like sweet spiced fudge. Both of these soaps contain coconut oil and so leave your skin feeling so soft. Alex actually picked up Reindeer Rock soap to show me as it contains Lingonberry and so reminded him of Ikea! It smells so delicious, like winter berries.

I really love everything that I bought from lush and I've already added the Gold fun bar - a sweet toffee smelling soap/bubble bath to my Christmas wishlist!

FAIL SAFE BEAUTY PRODUCTS: EYES AND LIPS

best-beauty-products

I love finding products that always deliver great results and make me feel good when I use them. I can always count on these products to work for me, whether it's to brighten up a gloomy day, soften my lips or brighten up my eyes!

MAC Eye Kohl in Powersurge: This golden, shimmery antique bronze eyeliner is perfect smudged under the lower lash line. It glides on so easily and really brings out your eyes. This really is a lovely eye pencil for everyday wear especially throughout autumn.

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Alhambra: This rose, golden duo gives a beautiful sheen of colour to your eyes. It really brightens the eye area bringing light and a pretty glow. For a full review and swatches click here.

Lush Mint Julips lip scrub: The smell of mint chocolate and the promise of smooth lips makes me so excited to use this as the months get colder. This lovely little sugar scrub works so well at buffing away any dry patches on your lips leaving them soft and smooth.

Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain in Lovesick: To brighten up a gloomy day, I always reach for Revlon Lovesick. This balm stain is a bright pink with a hint of purple that lasts ages on the lips, keeps them feeling moisturised and is so easy for quick application on the go.

Lush Pumkin bubble bar

Lush 'Pumkin' - £2.75

This little guy smells amazing! Like Figs and Leaves soap, it has a Orange flower and Ylang Ylang scent which is sweet and spicy - perfect for this time of the year.

Crumbled under running water this gives the bath a pumpkin orange colour and creates soft bubbles, it's definitely one of my favourite bubble bars from Lush.

I've only bought one this year but while they're still available from the Lush website I'm tempted to stock up!

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub

Lush Lip Scrub - £5.25

As the weather has been getting colder by the day, this yummy Lip scrub has been a saviour for my dry chapped lips.

Lush Mint Julips lip scrub uses Castor sugar as a gentle exfoliator along with jojoba oil which moisturises and leaves lips feeling lovely and soft.

It's so easy to exfoliate your lips by rubbing a small amount of this sugar scrub over your lips gently buffing away any dry skin, then you simply lick/wipe it off!

I use this every night before I put on one of my favourite lip balms which together, have really helped my lips to stay smooth and hydrated.

Lush lip scrubs come in a few different flavours, I picked up Mint Julips as it was my favourite smell but Popcorn, their Christmas Lip Scrub version also smelled so good!

Lush Christmas - Golden Wonder

Lush Golden Wonder bath ballistic - £3.25

This has to be one of the cutest things from the Lush Christmas Collection. It's meant to smell like a light fizzy champagne cocktail, it definitely smells fruity to me, but not really at all christmassy.

The best thing about this bath ballistic was watching it fizzy away in a swirl of golds, blues and greens, spitting out little stars as it went. Although it left a pretty slight golden shimmer to my skin when I got out, it also left the bath covered in gold which wasn't great to scrub away afterwards!

This is one of the biggest bath ballistics that I've seen from lush and so it does feel like you're getting your value for money. If you like fizzy, fruity scents then I would definitely recommend trying this ballistic, if not only for the oooh's and ahhh's watching it fizz away!

  Lush Cinders - £2.25

Lush 'Cinders' is a gorgeous Christmassy limited edition bath ballistic with cinnamon, sweet orange and almond oils and popping candy. It is meant to "evoke sitting by a crackling open fire, drinking a glass of warm punch".

This is one of my favourite smells from lush, it filled the house with a lovely christmassy smell that lasted all day. I'll definitely want to stock up on these to have over Christmas along with my tradition of buying a big bottle of Snow Fairy!

Lush Butterball

I love this simple, little bath bomb so much that I thought I would dedicate a whole post to it! I find a lot of Lush bath bombs can be quite drying for my skin, but not this little beaut!
This has a subtle vanilla scent and as it fizzes it releases small flecks of coco butter that float to the top of the bath. I scoop these up and massage into any dry patches - knees, elbows, heels etc and so when you get out of the bath your left feeling lovely and moisturised.

This is my favourite Lush bath bomb I've tried so far, I also really want to try Honey Bee - has anyone got any good Lush bath bomb recommendations?

Lush Soaps

I'm not going to lie, I've always bought a 2 pack of Dove for 99p and never really thought anything of it - I use soap first and then shower gel so I'd usually invest in a nice shower gel and not normally think twice about which soaps I bought!

Recently in Lush, I've been drawn to their soaps. I actually went in to buy the sweetheart valentines soap but ended up buying these three instead! The Lush assistant pointed out that I bought three of the most moisturising soaps which is good for this time of the year!
I've tried the Figs and Leave soap and i'm already in love. This soap gently exfoliates with the fig seeds and is so creamy and moisturising, my skin felt so soft after using it. All of the soaps range from about £3-£5 per 100grams which is quite a lot I think for soap, however I got just over 100g for each of these soaps and there is more product than a bar of Dove so its not too bad lol. I love the fact that theres so many natural ingredients in Lush soaps, i'm converted!

Lush Honey I washed the Kids Soap - This smells exactly like 'It's raining men' shower gel which is my fave ever lush product. Its a gorgeous Honey-toffee smell, seriously the most amazing smell ever (if you like sweet scents). The use of Honey, Beeswax and Aloe vera extract are soothing and moisturising however the main thing about this soap for me is how good it smells!

Lush Porridge soap - This is a winter must have. It has a really comforting smell, the oats are meant to gently exfoliate whilst the oat milk moisturises. This also has a lot of natural ingredients such as rapeseed oil, orange oil, orange juice and coconut oil - it doesn't smell like any of these ingredients though!

Figs and Leaves soap - This also smells gorgeous, it has earthy notes from the leaves but also is quite sweet from the figs. You can see the tiny fig seeds and pulp in the soap and it gives of a really creamy moisturising milky lather which left my skin feeling super soft and nourished.
