I love winter and rainy days but recently I've been dreaming of Spring. I've got a lot of exciting changes happening soon including a move, an exciting Make-up project and with my brothers birthday and Valentines day coming up in February I'm ready to leave behind gloomy January and move forward with the year! 

I'm still secretly hoping it will snow before Spring, but I can't wait for daffodils, lighter evenings, brighter colours (that I will only dare to wear on my lips) and an excuse to eat mini eggs! Pastel colours are slowly creeping back into the shops and I'm lusting after this Primark Outfit from Be Frassy even though I would never normally wear colours!

Also, Happy Lunar New Year everyone - Michelle has done an amazing post about the year of the horse here, It looks it's going to be a good year! x

Throwback Thursday: Age 14, 2003

Hello, guys! Thought I would do a "Throwback Thursday" post. I posted this on Instagram a couple weeks ago but thought I would go into a little more detail here. Here I am at age 14- with my natural hair color! - I'm still astounded by the fact that this is nearly 10 years ago!

I was a sophomore in high school and had just discovered makeup. I didn't really know what I was doing (I didn't discover Youtube until late in college >.<) and mostly just wore eyeliner and lip gloss.

I was also horrible at accessorizing. Here, I believe I'm wearing a necklace and pair of earrings from Claire's (that do not go together at all haha). I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 16 so these were clip-ons. I remember how much of a pain it was to try to find good clip-on earrings.

I'm also wearing my school's very unflattering uniform. I was petite so they were a little big for me and the color. There was a gold shirt option as well, but that was even worse... my school used to have maroon, dark green, navy, and white polos instead but then changed to the bright blue and gold since they were our school colors. Oh, how I missed those old uniforms. I only had to wear them for a year though because my junior year I went to public school for the first time.

Spring is a time for new beginnings, fresh starts and growth. 

After procrastinating for far too long, I really need to start taking bigger steps towards my dreams and goals! 

My aims for Spring:

♥ Buy fresh flowers, often.

♥ Take steps towards my dream career. 

♥ 30 Day Shred!

♥ Spring Clean my Wardrobe.

♥ Cleaner foods - organic, salads, smoothies.

♥ Try something new/ Learn something new.

These are my Spring goals, I don't have too many as I find it easier to stick to if I keep it short and simple. I'd love to learn a new language, eat cleaner, tone up and sort out my career. Hopefully by summer I will have achieved a few of my goals!

Casual Valentine's Day OOTD

For Valentine's Day, I kept my work outfit casual and comfy. My white, red heart sweatshirt from Wildfox Couture was perfect for the day and is easily the most comfortable top I own. To edge it up a little, I paired it with my BCBGeneration fanx leather pants along with my Vince Camuto boots and Michael Kors rose gold watch. I used thebalm's Nude'tude palette for my eyes and my recently purchased Revlon lip butter in Red Velvet for my lips. Super simple, but I got a lot of compliments :)

Theres nothing I love more than cosying up on a blustery autumn day with a good book, hot chocolate and warm fluffy socks! This pretty much sums up my autumn days so far. Theres still things on my list to do for autumn, conker picking, pumpkin carving and apple bobbing to name a few! I can't wait for halloween, and i've got my birthday early November to look forward to too!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Crush

After I wrote my post on Revlon JBK Stain in Honey, I found a £2 revlon voucher and as the kissable balm stains were still at £5.99, I couldn't resist buying another one!

I went for Revlon balm stain in Crush, a lovely cherry colour which I would never normally brave! It doesn't look that dark on the lips, but it has buildable coverage. 

I think this is perfect for autumn and i've loved wearing it already!

6. I was super psyched to buy my NARS Laguna bronzer after lusting after it for so long! And yes, that is my signed (!!) Ian Somerhalder poster in the mirror.
7. I use to be SO addicted to Angry Birds. This is a little gift a friend of mine made for me - I can't get over how awesome it is.

2. My bridesmaid dress for my roommate's wedding! It took a long time, but we finally found a dress that passed our high fashion standards ^^

Recently I feel so pulled into all the new, exciting products that are out at the moment that I feel I have neglected a lot of my old make up. 
To resolve this, this week I did a massive sort out, got rid of lots of old make up and organised everything neatly into my glossybox boxes. Hopefully now I can use up what I have rather than buying more and more of what I dont really need. Don't get me wrong, I still NEED to try revlon lip butters lol and I'm sure I'll try new things now and again but I'm trying to be a bit more frugal :) 

I'm excited about re-discovering products and looking forward to seeing the Hunger Games this Friday! I'm also really addicted to Draw Some at the moment, my username is MisSophie7 if anyone wants to play!

Instagram Diaries #4: Spring Break Edition

Here are just a few instagram pictures from my Spring Break trip to Kansas with my family!

1. The iconic KU Jayhawk! Don't ask me why it's wearing Pilgrim shoes.
2. Sitting in the fifth row, we had an amazing view of the court!
3. My sister and I sitting in the stands decked out in KU gear.
4. A nice shot from the start of the game.
5. The crowd was AMAZING! KU students/fans sure do love their basketball! I'd definitely be intimidated if I were the opposing team.
6. We visited my dad's childhood home in Neodasha. He says it's stayed relatively unchanged since he was a boy. Except for the satellite dish on the front lawn, of course.
7. While in Neodasha, we also paid respects to my great grandmother and my Nana who recently passed away. If you look at the bottom right of the bottom tombstone, you'll see a little blue Jayhawk in honor of her sons who both went to KU.
8. Coming home, I snagged this Delta SKY magazine for the sole reason that Jennifer Lawrence was on the cover. My sister called me a creeper. I just love my JLaw.

I've found some great bargins this week including this grey t-shirt dress in Primark, it looks so similar to the Topshop one but is a lot cheaper at only £8, I also got these No7 wipes with my boots £5 off No7 voucher, it takes them down to £2 and they are my favourite ever make up wipes!  

I am SO excited that Breaking Dawn pt 1 is out on DVD tomorrow, I've been catching up on Twilight and New moon and I'm just settling down to watch Eclipse now!

Instagram Diaries #3

It's been a while since I've done an Instagram update so these photos come from over a period of several weeks from before Christmas break, during, and after.

2. Outside my mom's house - growing up, there used to be flocks of peacocks all over, now there is usually just the one who comes out waiting for my mom to feed him.
3. My sister and I painted each other's nails. She made mine a nice pale pink.
4. Nom nom nom! My friend Sonja and I made a vegan funky monkey pie (blog post and baking video coming soon!)
5. Playing the Adele vinyl my boyfriend gave me on the record player I got for Christmas :D

Instagram Diaries #2

I am finally home for the holidays - yay! It feels so good to be back with my family. After this crazy, non-stop whirlwind of a semester, I am looking forward to a relaxing two and half weeks of sleeping, eating homecooked meals, playing video games, catching up on TV shows, and obsessing over Pinterest.

My journey home was a little delayed, however, due to a little excursion. After my short and stress-free finals week, I headed off for the quiet and tranquil beaches of St. George Island before coming home to the loud and crowded ones. My boyfriend, Chris, and I stayed at his family's super cute beach house where we watched Disney movies, cooked salmon, and gazed at the stars in between walking on the beach and exploring the island and its many souvenir shops. Apparently, the island gets super busy during times like the Fourth of July (understandable), but, during our stay, it literally felt like there were no more than a dozen people in that whole 28-mile stretch of land. It was quite nice if I do say myself. And you couldn't beat the gorgeous night sky. Of course, I Instagrammed like crazy :)

1. Chris and I decided to be cliched and wrote our initials within a heart in the sand.
2. The peaceful St. George Island beach. Barely a person in sight.
3. Chris and mine's footprints. I like how mine looks like it's rising out of the sand.
4. Walking on the beach - the weather was just chilly enough for me to wear my Express jacket.
5. Some cool circular mirrors in the beach house (reflecting two framed shell collections).
6. So there are other people on the island...somewhere.
7. The reconstructed St. George Island Lighthouse.
