CHANEL LA DIVA LIPSTICK

Chanel Lipstick

My first Chanel.

The perfect cure for a gloomy rainy day, this matte shocking pink lipstick is by far the prettiest lipstick I own. The Chanel packaging is lovely and something that I can keep on display and treasure.

This cool, flamingo pink colour is great to wear either with a cosy grey jumper, black leggings and hair thrown up into a ponytail or paired with a lbd for an evening out. Being matte on the lips means that although it's bright, it's still very wearable.

This lasted a good 5-6 hours on my lips and when it faded it left a pretty pink stain. I'm really impressed with the formulation, it felt creamy on my lips and lasted a lot longer than lipsticks normally do on me.

I have my eye on a red next, when I've saved up enough boots points. Any suggestions?

ORLY NAIL POLISH

Orly are one of my favourite brands of nail polish. They come in the most beautiful colours, last well on my nails and are in little bottles which I find easier to store and to take with me when travelling. At £5 a bottle they're quite expensive for a little 5.3ml nail varnish but as I don't normally finish a bottle anyway, they're perfect for me.

Orly Grape Glitz - A shimmery lilac with pink running through it, this is a really sheer colour that can be worn on its own as a pretty, natural effect, over another nail varnish to give it a girly finish or layered up to make it opaque.

Orly Rage - Opaque in just one swipe (although I normally do 2 layers), this is the perfect no fuss rose gold. It has small particles of beautiful rose gold glitter, dries pretty quickly and so is great for when you have little time to paint your nails.

Orly Oh Cabana Boy - This is a bright pink with violet and blue undertones running through it, I love wearing this on my toes in summer, it's the perfect shade of pink!

Mary Kay Influenster VoxBox Unboxing

I received yet another Influenster VoxBox and I couldn't be happier! I think I'm more excited about receiving these in the mail than the actual beauty boxes I pay money to subscribe to!

If you don't know what Influenster is, it's a FREE program where once you sign up, you can take surveys and earn badges that can qualify you to receive various FREE VoxBoxes full of sample-sized, and very often full-sized products, to try and review.

This time the box is all about Mary Kay! Honestly, I do not own any Mary Kay products and I think the only person who I can remember - I think - was my grandmother. So when I think of Mary Kay, I think of it as makeup more for my mom or her mom - very mature. I don't think of it as young, fresh, and trendy or very appealing to girls my age. I'm hoping this box can prove me wrong!

First off, this box is already the cutest box I've ever received from Influenster. I was excited about the Valentine's Day J'adore VoxBox because it was pink - this one has an adorable design and roses all over it! I'm already won over. Once you open it open it, the pink and cutest continues as the box greets you with "hello, gorgeous! hola, bella!" I love it.

Within the pink tissue paper is a Mary Kay catalog and two cards. The introduction card outlines the products within the box and the other informs you about a survey you can take for a chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card.

Inside My VoxBox

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara in I <3 Black ($15)
This mascara states that it "defines, defends and delivers four times the volume" - four times the volume compared to what? Seems like a random number to choose - also what is it defending my lashes from? The elements of nature? Sorry I have so many questions haha I really am excited to receive and try this - I love getting new mascaras, especially full sized ones! This mascara has a nice long skinny wand with short spiky bristles, and bonus no funky smell!

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist ($14)
This states that it's a "soft, creamy, long-wearing formula." Yes, it is very soft and very creamy. The long-wearing part is still to be determined as I have not tried it yet, but I do very much love this color. It's a beautiful warm gold with a hint of shimmer. Lovely on all skin tones. Perfect for summer.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush ($12)
This blush states its "stay-true color defines cheekbones." Gotta be careful with this packaging as the blush tries to fall right out! I really like this nice everyday pink color. There's a bit of a gold sheen to it that I actually really like as it warms up the face a bit so I think it's perfect for summer.

Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder ($16)
I actually don't own any translucent powder although I'd been meaning to so I am very excited to receive this! As the description says, I'm hoping it will control "unwanted shine all day" - so important on those hot LA days!

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black ($18)
Love the little brush it comes with! I'm a big fan of gel eyeliner so very excited to see this especially in such a HUGE pot! This is bigger than anything I've ever paid for! I also love that they gave you a nice basic jet black color instead of some funky color. Here's hoping that it is indeed a "versatile eyeliner with intense color payoff."

Mary Kay Gel Bronzing Powder ($18)
Very pleasantly surprised with the size of this product - once again it's huge! The color is very natural-looking, not orange-y at all and I can certainly see it giving you that "sun-kissed glow" it describes. The texture is also very nice and smooth.

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango ($14)
This little gloss comes in a bold fiery coral color perfect for summer. The card says it comes in "rich, intense, long-wearing shades." There's definitely some intense shimmer going on here.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush ($10) + Powder Brush
Finally, there are two brushes included although only one is listed on the card. The concealer blush is nice and soft and I can definitely see myself using it for applying cream eye colors as well. The powder brush is a nice addition that I will use with the translucent powder although it's not exactly the softest brush. The sleek design of the brushes are nice though with a nice matte handle.

Have you tried any Mary Kay products?

LIPSTICKS CURRENTLY ON ROTATION

Summer lipsticks
revlon berry allure swatch
L-R Topshop Infrared, Revlon Lovesick, Mac Creme Cup, Revlon Wild Watermelon, Revlon Berry Allure

These are the lipsticks that are currently on rotation in my make up bag, I've been swapping and changing my lip products ready for summer and I'm currently in love with all of these shades.

Topshop Infrared: The perfect orange with a hint of red to it, i've been wearing this with bronzed skin and golden eyeshadows. I love Topshops lipstick's formula, its creamy, lasts a while on my lips and the colour selection is amazing.

Revlon Just bitten kissable balm stain in Lovesick - I've owned this for a while but only until I saw Anna wearing it in her latest vlog have I started actually wearing it. I'm now completely in love with this shade, it looks great with a cosy grey jumper and lots of mascara. It lasts ages on my lips without drying them and then leaves a pretty pink stain.

Mac Creme Cup - I rarely wear nude lipsticks as my lips are quite pigmented and I find they wash me out but this has just enough pink to it to look pretty on the lips and is great to wear for days I go heavier on the eye make up. This is a creamsheen formula so it is creamy and subtle.

Revlon Wild Watermelon - I love revlon lip butters. A hybrid between a lipstick and balm, these are really pigmented, lighter than a lipstick and buildable so really wearable. This is a really pretty pink toned red, almost raspberry colour which is great as a summery red.

Revlon lip gloss Berry Allure - This is one of my favourite lip glosses, it leaves my lips feeling soft, lasts a couple of hours on my lips and is such a pretty berry fuchsia colour. It looks pretty pigmented but on the lips it is quite sheer.

MAC ALLURING AQUATIC LIPSTICK MYSTICAL

Mac packaging
Mac alluring aquatic lipstick swatches
Mac Mystical

If you read my 'something a little different' post, you'll know that I love the rain. I completely fell for this packaging as it reminds me of raindrops, it's so pretty and completely drew me in!

Mac Mystical lipstick is a mid-toned creamy rose coloured lipstick, it is creamsheen formula and leaves a soft, natural finish on my lips. I didn't actually expect to love the colour as much as I do, for me its a 'my lips but better' shade meaning its great for every day wear.

I wore this with Mac All that glitters - a peachy gold eyeshadow, winged liner and quite a bit of highlighter and it lasted around 3-4 hours on my lips.

MY MAC QUAD

mac-eyeshadow-palette
mac-quad
naked-lunch-swatch

For me, making your own eyeshadow palette is so personal and unique. I have brown eyes and so look for eyeshadow shades with hints of purple in them to help my eyes to stand out, this is my every day Mac quad and four most used Mac eyeshadows.

MAC Sable eyeshadow (top left): A beautiful bronze colour with plum pearl, I love wearing this blended under my eyes or in the crease.

MAC Patina eyeshadow (top right): A light taupe with golden shimmer running through it, this is a pretty neutral shade that I wear all over the lid on its own.

MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow (bottom left): My favourite Mac eyeshadow that I wear pretty much every day. I get so many compliments on my eyes when I wear this, its the perfect champagne pink.

MAC Quarry eyeshadow (bottom right): This is the only Matte colour in my quad, I wear this muted plum-brown colour blended into the crease with a tapered eyeshadow brush, normally with Naked Lunch all over the lid.

For my Inner corner highlight and brow bone, I normally just take whichever highlighter I'm using that day and apply a little with a bdellium 716.
