Maybelline colour sensational Vivid's Lipstick in Fuchsia Flash

Maybelline-vivids-lipstick-review

Although it's still dreary and rainy outside, I've been following the S/S trend and wearing bright pink lipstick. Maybelline Fuchsia Flash is my current favourite, it has a creamy texture, smells amazing and is so pigmented!

I'm really impressed with Maybelline fuchsia flash lipstick, it doesn't dry out my lips and lasts a good few hours before fading on me. I don't normally brave a bright pink lip but this is such a pretty colour I couldn't resist!

This also works well if you dab a bit on the center of your lips and then use your finger to blend in to give a less intense look. I've been wearing this with a little bit of matte eyeshadow, winged liquid liner and an umbrella!

Blue Lower Lash line Make up

Blue-lower-lash-line-make-up

I think this is a great way to use bright colours for a summery make up look without it looking too bold. It gives a nice hint of colour which I would feel brave enough to wear out on a warm summers evening or even during the day.

I used Barry M Kohl Pencil in 19 on my waterline and paired it with Bright bottom lashes to give a pretty turquiose 'pop' to this everyday look. The thing I love about cream eyeshadows is that you can apply them on your lashes over your mascara to give you coloured lashes, I did this with Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr eyeshadow in the shade Turquiose Forever.

Firstly I applied Rimmel Wake me up foundation with a Real Techniques expert face brush, I used Bourjois Bronzer to contour and Mac Warm soul Blush to give me a summery glow. I Highlighted using Topshop highlighter in Sunbeam, and finished off with Rimmel stay matte powder
I used Clinique superfine liner for brows to shape my brows and Mac Pigment in Melon as a wash of colour over my lids. I ran Collection Dazzle me in Magical under the lower lash line and in the inner corners of my eyes and I used Revlon Peach Parfait Lip Butter and Revlon Lipgloss in Peony on my lips.

My New Obsession: VINE!!

I've been on Vine for a little while now, but relegated myself as a viewer,  putting off making any of my own videos...until now. Suffice to say, Vine is my new obsession, and I'm impatiently waiting for others to see the light of how awesome this app is so we can all enjoy it's awesomeness together.

Yes, the videos made are usually silly, but that's one reason I think I love it so much. I love that it can capture those silly and fun moments you have with friends and family and allows you to relive them over and over again in short six second clips. As soon as I was introduced to the app, I knew that I was looking at the next big thing in social media. It still has some catching on to do, but I believe it will become very successful. Twitter believes in it too as it was bought by the company in October.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a super brief description. Vine is an app that allows you to create video clips up to six seconds long then share or embed those clips on social media networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Or as I've explained to friends, it's like Instagram (because you can Like and Comment on clips) except all the posts are videos instead of pictures.

With all of that out of the way, here are a few of my Vines...feel free to follow me as well HERE (the link will take you to an iPhone app so if you're on your computer, it won't work).

Leave me your Vine links in the comments below so I can follow you too!

Origins Night a Mins

origins-night-a-mins-oil-free
origins-skincare-samples

I was given a small tester of Origins Night a mins oil free renewal cream and fell in love with it instantly. Even when the Origins sales assistant tested it on the back of my hand, I was so surprised at how soft it made my hand feel.
Origins Night a mins is quite fragranced which something that I normally tend to avoid, however as this contains no parabens or mineral oil, it doesn't react badly with my skin at all and even helps reduces any blemishes I have, helps to fade acne scarring and keeps my skin hydrated.
I picked up the oil free version to suit my skin type but there is also a richer version of this which would be good for dry skin.
I read reviews on Origins Night A Mins online after I bought the full sized product as the tester worked so well for me. The reviews are mainly very positive however a few people seem to have experienced breakouts after using this so although I highly recommend this moisturiser, I would see if you can get a sample pot to test it out first. Origins tend to be really good with giving out samples, I got these two samples when I bought Night a Mins!
This has quickly become my staple night time moisturiser, my skin seems to love origins at the moment and I'm definitely looking for daytime moisturiser from them to put on my Wishlist!

Have you tried this?

May Bank Holiday Weekend

Ikea Haul
Rain Photo
Share a coke with

I haven't done a lifestyle post before, but I had such a lovely May Bank holiday weekend that I thought I would share some of the pictures with you!

Saturday started off as a dreary rainy day. Me and my boyfriend took a trip to Ikea to buy the Alex draws which I'm currently organising my ever expanding Make-up collection into. I picked up a few bits for the home too, I've wanted the Ofelia fluffy white blanket ever since I saw it on Mariannan's decor posts and the pretty plant/candle holders are perfect to store my Make-up brushes in. After queueing for too long for food in Ikea, we gave up waiting and walked to Asda which was near to buy some snacks to eat. I couldn't resist this Coke bottle, even though I don't really drink it! Me and Alex (My boyfriend not the draws!) ate Melon, Crisps and Pastries in the car and then picked up a Costa hot chocolate for the drive home.

Sunday was spent building furniture and making Belgium waffles. I had Golden syrup, cinnamon and a dusting of icing sugar on mine :)

Monday was a lovely, sunny day. We took a stroll along a river next to blossom filled tree's and fed the swans. I gave this little guy an extra big bit of bread to say thanks for the photo!

All in all one of my favourite long weekends.

My Life in 250 Words

Today I begin the "Blog Every Day in May" challenge from yesterday's post (I know it's actually the 2nd of May and not the first, but I'm cheating and doing this one instead - I'm counting it as my Throwback Thursday post lol :p). The first topic is "the story of your life in 250 words or less." In order to do this, I wrote possibly the driest autobiography ever haha. Here we go...

I was born in Palm Bay, Florida on October 2, 1989. My family soon moved to a small city along the beach called Indialantic where I spent most of my childhood. At age 4, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. At age 5, my parents bumped me from kindergarten to first grade because I had complained about not being challenged enough. From this point on until high school, I was an overachiever and perfectionist. At age 13, my family moved into a house my dad had built in Merritt Island. After giving homeschool a try my freshmen year and not quite fitting in at my private school, I reluctantly enrolled into public school as a junior. There, I discovered my love of film and tv even if I didn't make many friends. Not ready to part with my family, I enrolled to community college during which time my parents divorced, and my sister and I moved into an apartment with our dad. At 19, I finally left my family to go to FSU. Here, I at last found my niche of friends and got heavily involved in several extracurriculars. After switching majors twice, I settled on Retail Merchandising. It took some time to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my life, but I decided that I loved PR, social media, and event planning. Today, I am living in NYC pursuing a career doing what I love and am graduating from Florida State tomorrow night.

250 words EXACTLY. I'm so proud of myself :D

Now, excuse me as I go pack for my 5 hour drive up to Tallahassee :)

Spring Nails

L-R Essie Peach Daiquiri, Barry M Grapefruit, Essie Mint Candy Apple, Topshop Windy City, Barry M Peach Melba, Topshop Prim and Proper

These are my current favourite Spring Nailvarnishes. I think they are a lovely mix of pretty pastels for spring and a few brights which will also be great for summer.

Barry M Gelly in Grapefruit and Essie Peach Daiquiri are actually quite similar, although Grapefruit is slightly on the pinker side. The Barry M Gelly formula is lovely, only 1 coat needed and it is very high shine, perfect for quick application and shiny nails!
I think my favourite of the bunch has to be Essie Mint candy apple, this is the perfect summer colour and I love the name, the packaging and the brush!

What are your favourite colours this spring?

Blog Post + Photo Everyday in May!

So I know I can be quite the sporadic poster - one week I'll be posting every single day, the next I'll post maybe once and it'll just be for a link up. Fail. I'm really trying to curb this habit, believe me, but when you're a twenty-something who's just moved to New York City, it can be a little difficult. Enough with the excuses though, it's a new month and a new start.

May always seems to be a big exciting month of endings and new beginnings. What does that mean exactly? It means that May is (usually) filled with the end of classes, graduations, the start of summer, etc. In my case, it consists of me flying back to Florida to graduate, then going right back up to New York where I'm going to be moving (again) into a new apartment, and starting at least one new part-time job while still job hunting for the right day job. Basically, real life is going to be craaaazy BUT it's also going to provide plenty for me to blog about! I've always prided myself on my time management skills, and this month I'm going to put those skills to the test!

I am challenging myself for the entirety of May to write one blog post AND post one photo on Instagram EACH day (I'm also going to try to churn out at least two Youtube videos a week, but that's another post haha). I am going to using the following prompts each day from Story of My Life and Fat Mum Slim. And don't worry, I'll still have other regular posts and photos as well!

Day 1, Wednesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph... no one will be counting your words... probably)
Day 2, Thursday:Educate us on something you know alot about or are good at. Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic)
Day 3, Friday: Things that make you uncomfortable
Day 4, Saturday: Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it
Day 5, Sunday: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them? If you don't have blogger friends, talk about a real-life friend or even a family member
Day 6, Monday: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?
Day 7, Tuesday: The thing(s) you're most afraid of
Day 8, Wednesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Day 9, Thursday: A moment in your day (this can be just a photo or both a photo and words)
Day 10, Friday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
Day 11, Saturday: Sell yourself in 10 words or less
Day 12, Sunday: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)
Day 13, Monday: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.
Day 14, Tuesday: Ten things that make you really happy
Day 15, Wednesday: A Day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day - this could be "a photo an hour" if you'd like)
Day 16, Thursday: Something difficult about your "lot in life" and how you're working to overcome it
Day 17, Friday: A favorite photo of yourself and why
Day 18, Saturday: Tell a story from your childhood. Dig deep and try to be descriptive about what you remember and how you felt.
Day 19, Sunday: Five of your favorite blogs and what you love about them
Day 20, Monday: Get real. Share something you're struggling with right now.
Day 21, Tuesday: A list of links to your favorite posts in your archives
Day 22, Wednesday: Rant about something. Get up on your soapbox and tell us how you really feel. (a pet peeve, a current event, a controversial topic, something your husband or roommate or neighbor or boss does that really ticks you off)
Day 23, Thursday: Things you've learned that school won't teach you
Day 24, Friday: Your top 3 worst traits
Day 25, Saturday: Something someone told you about yourself that you'll never forget (good or bad)
Day 26, Sunday: Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss, if you'd like.
Day 27, Monday: A letter to your readers
Day 28, Tuesday: Only pictures
Day 29, Wednesday: Five songs or pieces of music that speak to you or bring back memories. Use Grooveshark or YouTube to include them in the post
Day 30, Thursday: React to this term: Letting Go
Day 31, Friday: A vivid memory

Are you doing either of these challenges?
