Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub

lush-lip-scrub
Lush Lip Scrub - £5.25

As the weather has been getting colder by the day, this yummy Lip scrub has been a saviour for my dry chapped lips.

Lush Mint Julips lip scrub uses Castor sugar as a gentle exfoliator along with jojoba oil which moisturises and leaves lips feeling lovely and soft.

It's so easy to exfoliate your lips by rubbing a small amount of this sugar scrub over your lips gently buffing away any dry skin, then you simply lick/wipe it off!

I use this every night before I put on one of my favourite lip balms which together, have really helped my lips to stay smooth and hydrated.

Lush lip scrubs come in a few different flavours, I picked up Mint Julips as it was my favourite smell but Popcorn, their Christmas Lip Scrub version also smelled so good!

Which is your favourite Lush lip scrub?

Get Ready With Me ❤ Christmas Day

Hope you guys all had a wonderful Merry Christmas yesterday!! Since I'm moving away to NYC in less than two weeks, presents were light (since I can't take much up with me) but family time was still heavy. I won't go into too much detail since I'm planning on doing a Christmas post so I'll just jump right into my Christmas Day look.

I was originally planning on wearing a bright red cherry sweater, leggings, and scarf (as seen in the video). However, since this IS Florida, after wearing this outfit for no more than 20 minutes, I started sweating unbearably and had to change into something a little more breathable. Hence, the second outfit.

Either way, I knew I wanted to wear red to match my bold red lips. I originally wanted to wear my MAC "Ruby Woo" Matte Lipstick but couldn't find it (I still have lots of unpacking to do from Tallahassee) so I went with my Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick instead (paired with my Revlon "Candy Apple" Lip Butter which I LOVE). Since I decided to go for such dramatic lips, I downplayed everything else. Very neutral eyes and I passed on bronzer and instead used MAC's "Soft & Gentle" Mineralize Skinfinish to give my super pale skin a touch of warmth.

Oh, and for my hair, I was feeling my natural waves so I literally didn't do anything to my hair but spritz it with some leave-in conditioner.

Ta-da! What do you guys think??

What did you all do for Christmas??

HAUL: Dior, Chanel, and MAC

Merry Christmas Eve, you guys!!

So this haul is a LONG time coming!! It feels like I bought these products AGES ago and I just haven't had time to film a proper haul video. Believe me, this is something I've been wanting to do, but I knew with this many products (and how much I love to talk), I needed at least a good hour to film alone..and I was right! I filmed over 40 minutes of footage...yikes! Sometimes I amaze myself with how much I can ramble on and on about makeup. Luckily, I was able to slim it down to 17 minutes which is still longer than both of my previous hauls combined. Props to anyone who actually watches the whole thing haha.

You'll notice a trend starting to happen in a couple of videos...my battery dying mid filming. It's so frustrating especially since I have to use natural light and the sun seems to be going down earlier and earlier each day so by the time I had charged it a little (I think I literally had it charging for only 15 minutes) the lighting had significantly grown darker.

I also wanted to point out that I had one more MAC Lipstick - "Jubilee" - but it seems my cat, Zuko, who loves to jump on my dresser, knocked it underneath the dresser and I did not find it until after filming :(

Have you tried any of these products?

Outfit of the Night ❤ Saturday

I wasn't quite sure what my plans for the evening were so I wanted something simple but versatile that would work wherever the night took me. I kept it casual with my favorite pair of Topshop jeans, but dressed it up with a sequin tank from Express over a black bandeau. I accessorized with a mixture of gold and silver jewelry,  my Candie's wedges, and of course my oxblood Rebecca Minkoff bag. Finally, I loved how my bright blue nail polish popped against everything.

WHAT I'M WEARING
- Express top
- Charlotte Russe bandeau
- Topshop jeans
- Candie's wedges
- Forever21 bracelet and earrings
- Henri Girl Boutique bracelet
- Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag
- butter LONDON "Blagger" nail polish

Haha, my toe is trying to escape my shoe straps XD What did you guys wear this weekend?

Lush Christmas - Golden Wonder

lush-golden-wonder-review
lush-christmas-bath-ballistic
lush-golden-wonder-christmas

Lush Golden Wonder bath ballistic - £3.25

This has to be one of the cutest things from the Lush Christmas Collection. It's meant to smell like a light fizzy champagne cocktail, it definitely smells fruity to me, but not really at all christmassy.

The best thing about this bath ballistic was watching it fizzy away in a swirl of golds, blues and greens, spitting out little stars as it went. Although it left a pretty slight golden shimmer to my skin when I got out, it also left the bath covered in gold which wasn't great to scrub away afterwards!

This is one of the biggest bath ballistics that I've seen from lush and so it does feel like you're getting your value for money. If you like fizzy, fruity scents then I would definitely recommend trying this ballistic, if not only for the oooh's and ahhh's watching it fizz away!

TAG: I ❤ Fall!

1. Favorite Fall lip product?
For me, fall is all about berry and plum colored lips! It’s the only time of the year that I’m this dark and daring with my lip color so I milk it for all it’s worth before I go back to light pinks and nudes in the winter. My favorite lip product for fall is, of course, a Revlon Lip Butter - Raspberry Pie, to be exact. It’s SUPER pigmented and a beautiful berry color. I find that it is even more pigmented than some of my department store lip sticks. I also love my NARS Larger Than Life lip gloss in Place Vendome. And of course, as mentioned in my October Favorites, my MAC Rebel lipstick. Drugstore-wise, I really love Maybelline’s Blissful Berry.

2. Favorite Fall Nail Polish?
I am in love with this fall’s nail trends! I love the deep reds, midnight blues, and jewel tones as well as the earthy tones and neutral greys on the other end of the spectrum. My favorite nail polish this season would probably be Essie’s Bahama Mama - it’s just such a gorgeous, dark vampy color; Orly's Rage - the perfect rose gold polish; and China Glaze's Argo, Autumn Harvest, and Foie Gras from the Hunger Games collection.

3. Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink?
I am all about the Pumpkin Spice!

4. Favorite Fall Candle?
Soooo cliché, but I loveeee the Leaves candle from Bath and Body Works. Thank goodness to the many gurus out there who talk about this candle or I may have never discovered it (I very much doubt I would have ever picked up a candle called “Leaves”). I am also loving the Pumpkin Cupcake candle – two of my favorite things combined in a candle – how could I not love it?

5. Favorite Fall Scarf or accessory
I love my oxblood Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C. purse that I received for my birthday. Not only is the color perfect for fall but it’s also perfect for an FSU student since our colors are garnet and gold so bonus! My favorite scarf I bought from Topshop when I was backpacking in Europe.

6. Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze?
What’s a haunted corn maze? Probably something they don’t have in Florida haha. Um, these things don’t really scare me, but I say hay ride because at least you get to sit down! Yes, I’m lazy.

7. Favorite Halloween movie?
My favorite Halloween-themed movie is probably The Nightmare Before Christmas. I remember loving this movie as a kid even if Mr. Boogie gave me nightmares. My favorite horror movie is Psycho which, thanks to the new Hitchcock previews, I’ve been itching to watch again really soon. Ooh! Growing up, I also loved watching the Disney channel original movie Halloweentown.

8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween?
I love sour candies! They make my mouth water just thinking about them! Reese's are also a favorite as are Almond Joys - even if I don't like almonds. Yes, I know about Mounds...

9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?!
I love showing off my nerdiness through my costumes! I went as Daenerys from Game of Thrones one night and Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter another (:

10. What is your Favorite thing about Fall?
The weather! In Florida, the summer is so HOT so when fall hits with its breezy, cool weather it is glorious. Plus, with cooler weather comes the accompanying warmer clothes: boots, layering pieces, sweaters, jackets, scarves - I loveee fall clothes.

That's it for this tag! Hope you guys enjoyed it! What are your answers? Feel free to do this tag yourself and put a link to your post in the comments section, I'd love to read it! (:

2012 AMAs Best Dressed

I don't have cable so I wasn't able to watch the actual awards show, but thanks to the internet, I was able to stay up to date on the glitzy red carpet fashion (and watch Taylor Swift's fierce performance). Here are my favorite red carpet looks of the night:

Taylor Swift - Zuhair Murad

Carrie Underwood - Abed Mahfouz

Hayden Panettiere - Giorgio Armani

Kelly Rowland - Naeem Khan

What were your favorite dresses of the night?

November Glossybox

Again, Glossybox seem to be back on track with another good box this month. I know Perfume samples are either a bit of a hit or miss and although I normally don't like perfume samples, I really like miniature versions of the actual bottle. You get more product and the bottles look really cute among my other perfumes!

I'm really excited to try the Dermalogica Microfoliant as I've read really good reviews on it. It's a powder that you put on wet hands to make a paste that you massage on to your face after cleansing. It gently exfoliates skin to make it smoother and brighter.

The Ayuui Indian Rose face cream is full sized which is really good however it smells very fragranced and is only normally £4.95 for this big bottle. My skin has been really sensitive recently so I'm not sure whether the ingredients/fragrance will be the best for my skin but I'll give it a go and hopefully it will be ok.

Alison Claire Mango Body butter - This is 70% Organic and has Mango butter, Aloe vera and Green Tea in it. This smells like Starburst or Hubba bubba - soo good!

Nails Inc Caviar Top coat - I love my Sally Hansen Insta-dri but I also love nails Inc Nailvarnish so I'm excited to try this.

What did you think of this months Glossybox?

LOCAL: CLUTCH Magazine's Fall 2012 Release Party

This past Wednesday was the Fall 2012 Release Party for CLUTCH Magazine, FSU's first and largest student-run magazine. Even though I'm still a little under the weather, I broke my recent hermit habits to venture out with a couple friends for one of my favorite events of the semester.

The party was held at Midtown Filling Station, one of my favorite venues in Tallahassee. The first 30 guests received VIP gift bags filled with goodies from Hanky Panky, Sephora, and local boutiques and salons. Along with the latest issue of CLUTCH, guests were also treated to mini cupcakes from Lucy and Leo's, all-night drink specials (that included "Clutch-tinis"), and free raffle prizes.

Here are a couple of photos from the release party:

With my littles, Colby and Marilyn

About to enjoy my mini red velvet cupcake

With our awesome goody bags!

With Clutch's Editor-In-Chief, Brittany, and Beauty Director, Gary

Definitely another successful CLUTCH Release Party!!

Superdrug Dry Shampoo

superdrug-dry-shampoo
best-dry-shampoo

I'm quite picky when it comes to dry shampoo, I use it every day to give me volume and although I rarely use it on second day hair as I wash my hair every day (bad I know!) I like it to make my hair feel fresh and clean if I do.
I first saw these on offer in Superdrug for 99p so I decided to try a couple. They are well priced at £1.99 each however recently I picked up 3 on a buy 1 get 2 free offer which is amazing value for money!

A can lasts me around 3 and a half weeks, which is pretty good considering I use it every day. There is a wide variety to choose from and pretty much all of them ive tried so far smell really good.

They're not powdery, smell great and really give my hair that extra oomph. My favourite so far is 'away with the fairies', it smells amazing. The only one I didn't get on too well with is the brunette one, when I washed my hair it looked like I had dyed it there was so much brown product residue! I also wasn't that fussed on the smell.

The only downside to these is they don't leave my hair feeling as clean and fresh as other brands. If I want a Dry shampoo for amazingly clean and fresh feeling hair then I get the Tresemme one, although it's quite expensive at £4.79 per can and it doesn't last me nearly as long.

I get these for a lovely smelling everyday volumiser, i'm really impressed with the quality and the value for money of these, I will definitely continue to stock up on there as superdrug often seem to have such great offers on them.

Have you tried these? Whats your favourite dry shampoo?

REVIEW: Maybelline Eyeshadow Quad in "Mad For Mauve"

Today I thought I would review my Maybelline Eyestudio Mad For Mauve Eyeshadow Quad from the Fall Scene on the Runway collection. Sorry if this review is a tad bit late..this quad is limited edition and I know they are a little bit more difficult to find now.

Mad For Mauve features a light pink (an excellent highlighter color), mauve-pink, olive, and burgundy-ish color. These colors are just gorgeous in the packaging, but the main reason why this quad caught my eye was because I thought these colors would compliment my brown eyes really well.

I have to say, I'm a little bit on the fence about this quad. On my fingers, the shadows look incredibly rich and pigmented, however, not so much once applied on the eyelids. It definitely helps using a primer or base, but it still takes quite a bit of building up. I will say that I did like the texture and it did blend very well. There was quite a bit of fallout though so that is something one should watch out for.

These retail for about $8-9 at most drugstores (although like I said they might take a little searching for now.) I wouldn't repurchase it, but I certainly am going to use it up.

Now just in case you wanted to see these shadows in action (look below)... As you can see, the shadows aren't nearly as vibrant as one would think, but it does look very natural with brown eyes.

Have you guys tried any of these quads? Which ones? Did you like them?

Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012

Yay!! I was so, so excited when I received the email from Influenster informing me that I had qualified to receive a Beauty Blogger VoxBox. I've been signed up for Influenster for a couple months now and this is my very first box!

If you don't know what Influenster is, it's a FREE program where once you sign up, you can take surveys and earn badges that can qualify you to receive various FREE VoxBoxes full of sample-sized, and very often full-sized products, to try and review.
  • NYC IndividualEyes in Dark Shadows - I'm a sucker for smokey eye palettes, and I loved that not only did this come with four shadows but also a primer and illuminator. The primer definitely makes a difference when you put the shadows on. I'm a fan of the NYC brand (I LOVE their Sunny Bronzer), but I had yet to try their eyeshadow palettes so I was very excited to see this in my box. The back label also lifts up to give helpful instructions on where to apply the shadows.
  • Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit - Although I have received fake lashes in my MyGlam bag, I have yet to use them or any other fake lashes..ever. One thing I wish the MyGlam lashes had came with was lash glue so I was very happy to see that this kit came with glue and an applicator. I actually ended up using these last weekend and was happily surprised with how easy they were to use. I also liked that they are made of human hair and looked pretty natural. Even though it was for Halloween, I didn't want it to look super obvious that I was wearing falsies.
  • Bath & Body Works Mini Candle in Pumpkin Cupcake - I recognized the scent immediately when I opened my box and couldn't be happier. I already own the full-size candle and I LOVE it! Pumpkin and Cupcake? What a perfect combination. This mini candle is so cute and is perfect for small spaces or for people who have trouble burning through the full-size candles (don't be fooled by it's size, the scent can definitely fill a room). Plus it came with a bonus coupon!
  • EBOOST Daily Health Booster in Orange - This immunity supplement will be perfect for the winter especially because I have the weakest immune system! Whenever I feel a cold coming up, I break out the Emergen-C, Airborne, and Naked Juices. I'll be sure to give this a try at the first sign of a sore throat or other cold symptom. I wish I got another flavor besides Orange though...
  • Goodie Simple Style Spin Pin - Just used this for the first time today, and I must say it is amazing!! I am horrible at making buns but with these little helix-shaped pins, I am a bun-making pro. I couldn't believe how simple and easy to use they were! And it really does hold your hair in place nice and secure! Seriously, if this works for me, anyone can do it.
  • Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream - I have naturally wavy hair although I often straighten it. I've heard good things about this brand, and I can't wait to see how this defines my waves. It's infused with natural grape seed and jasmine and smells amazing.
  • BONUS: Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion and Night Cream - I'm familiar with the Boots brand but haven't used their skincare items yet. I have Combination skin not Normal/Dry but I'm still interested in seeing what this does for my skin.

Are any of you guys on Influenster? Have you tried any of these products? What do you think? Comment and let me know! (:

October 2012 Birchbox

Wow! It's been a while since I've done a Birchbox review, but oh how I love doing them and what better time to start back up than October, my favorite month? This month, Birchbox subscribers had the option to opt in on a special "goop" box or stick with the regular Birchbox. If you didn't know (I sure didn't until I looked it up), goop is a lifestyle publication started by Gwyneth Paltrow. I was unaware about the goop box so I was sent the regular box. The theme this month is "Transformations."

Click HERE if you would like to sign up for Birchbox.

What I got in my box:
  • the original beautyblender - So so ecstatic to see this in my Birchbox! I already have one and let me say it is an incredible product and I do not mind having another. This simple little pink sponge does wonders for applying your foundation giving you a "flawless" finish. It's a bit pricey so if you were also lucky enough to receive one of these, it pretty much in itself paid for your box.
  • Lucy B Pink Frangipani & Wild Jasmine Roll-On Perfume Oils - A little alternative from the usual perfume sample, these are perfume oils that you can enjoy separately or mixed together. The pink frangipani is a citrusy scent while the jasmine is a sweet floral. Very nice scents but not very autumn-y. It would have been nice if they had been in roll-on container and not the little hard-to-open perfume vials - it always ends up popping up and spilling on me.
  • Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum - Very odd to see a sunscreen in a fall month box. Luckily, I do live in Florida so it's pretty much sunny year-round so I'll be able to give this a try. Foil samples are always a little disappointing but at least they gave two, and I've never heard of this brand so I'm looking forward to seeing what I think.
  • theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer - Let me just put it out there that I love theBalm so I was very happy to see this in my box even if the sample is small. It's still a decent size that gives you an idea of just how great this product is. It's super pretty and looks amazing as both a highlighter or an eyeshadow. Definitely need to pick up the full-size.
  • LUNA Fiber Bar in Chocolate Raspberry - I'm always being told I need more fiber in my diet and these would certainly help. They taste like a Nutri-grain bar times 10 - very dense and chock-full of fiber I assume. The chocolate flavor isn't too bad but I could have used a little more raspberry.

I was only sent four items this month (not counting the "Lifestyle Extra") and if weren't for the beautyblender, I would have been pretty disappointed. I was hoping for more "fall" related items and this box seemed stuck in summer =/

NOTE: My Birchbox this month arrived late due to a "shipping snafu." To apologize, they awarded me 100 Birchbox points (essentially $10 in the Birchbox store). Not bad. Just another testament to their awesome customer service.

What did you guys think? What products did you get in your Birchbox? Did you get the goop box? Did you like that better than the original? Comment and let me know!
